The Crabcake Factory Story
In 1996 after three season's operating a popular Ocean City Bar and Grille called Terrapin Station, Johnny Brooks took a gamble on a little breakfast spot in North Ocean City, Maryland. "I had lost my lease" explains Brooks, "and by a stroke of luck the owner of the Hotel here was a fan of my cooking". That was over 20 years ago and Brooks still maintains the same philosophy on the resort area restaurant scene. "We have never tried to be anything other than what we are" claims Chef Brooks, "We are just a little seafood shack down the shore with a lively bar, a funky outlook and a genuine love for all things Maryland, especially the Seafood".
Crabcake Factory currently operates four restaurants in the Ocean City, Maryland Beach Area. That "little seafood shack" remains a staple in Ocean City and is referred to as the Original Crabcake or OG for short. The OG underwent renovations during the Winter of 2017. It has kept the same intimate ambiance with a welcomed facelift. The Bayfront location in Fenwick Island, Delaware is a true throwback to the beach shacks that litter the Florida Keys, serving fresh seafood and libations just feet from the waters of the Gulf of Mexico and Atlantic Ocean. September 2016 Brooks opened a Third Location directly across the Street from the Original. The Crabcake Factory Seafood House is large Family Style Restaurant with Live Music and ample seating inside and outside and parking. The Fourth Location, Crabcake Factory Poolside, opened Summer of 2017. Johnny brought in his brother, Ron Brooks and Managing Partner Benny Feehley for their newest location in Downtown OC. Offering their award-winning food and beverage on a beautiful pool deck with palm trees and fun in the sun!
Crabcake Factory is known for several things. World Famous Crabcakes, Over the Top Breakfast and Outrageous Bloody Marys. Known for its casual fun atmosphere, drinking all day tee shirts and 5 star food, "The Factory" is a staple of Ocean City for over two decades now.
